About Livable Dedham

Livable Dedham is an advocacy group formed in 2015 to encourage creative thinking and action in developing an “age friendly” community for all residents. We seek improvements for all generations. Livable Dedham brings together concerned  citizens with civic groups, town government, and local businesses to enhance critical domains  such as housing, transportation, and community engagement. These enhancements promote the livability of Dedham and quality of life in the community.

Dedham’s population is aging, like many communities in the United States and around the world. See video here. By 2030, 41% of Dedham's residents are projected to be age 55 or older.  As people live longer, this trend will continue with younger generations. This significant shift is prompting people of all ages, business leaders, government officials, and healthcare experts to ask what needs to change to meet this new reality.  Livable Dedham is dedicated to responding to this critical question with innovative
solutions.
